There’s something special about a meal that brings together comfort, flavor, and a little bit of indulgence—and this menu does exactly that. From rich, buttery pecan bars that feel right at home on any dessert table, to a cozy chicken casserole that anchors the meal, and veggie sides that add color and balance, these are the kinds of dishes that make gatherings feel effortless and memorable. Whether you’re cooking for family, friends, or a full house, this lineup is all about crowd-pleasing favorites that everyone will love.

Let us know if you try them!

Pecan Pie Bars

These Pecan Bars may be even better than traditional pecan pie. Even devoted pecan pie fans will admit that a slice can be overwhelmingly sweet, but the buttery shortbread crust in these bars strikes the perfect balance. It complements the nutty filling and rich caramel flavor in a way a classic pie crust simply can’t.

They’re also the easiest way to serve pecan pie-inspired dessert. Baked in a standard 8×8-inch pan, the bars can be sliced into 12 generous servings or cut into smaller, bite-sized pieces—perfect for feeding a crowd at holiday gatherings.

Poppyseed Chicken Casserole

We love this classic southern Poppyseed Chicken Casserole recipe over the holidays. It comes together easily, especially if you use rotisserie chicken. Serve over rice or mashed potatoes with a colorful veggie and you've got yourself a meal! Bonus - make a batch of sour cream biscuits! (so easy...)

Side Dishes we Love

Ree Drummond is such a beloved cook because her recipes feel both comforting and approachable, like something you’d actually make for the people you love. Her side dishes are especially irresistible—they’re classic, hearty, and full of flavor without being fussy or overcomplicated. From rich casseroles to perfectly balanced vegetables, her sides have a way of stealing the spotlight and making any meal feel a little more special. We've linked two of our favorites for you to try this week!

Roasted Ranch Potatoes - This recipe is great for the ranch lover, and the kids will love it too!

Roasted Carrots with Honey Herbed Butter - Carrots are mild and earthy and soak up the honey, herbs, and butter to make a great side dish to chicken, steak, or fish.

Whether it's enjoying a meal or play a game with family, spending time with loved ones is what the holidays are about.

From our family to yours, Happy Holidays!
