Nearly 7 million Americans are affected by Alzheimer’s. Julieanne Steinbacher, an advocate, former social worker, and elder law attorney attended the 2024 AIM Advocacy Forum in Washington, D.C., where Alzheimer’s Association advocates discussed the impact of the disease.

They met with Congressman Thompson to advocate for the National Alzheimer’s Project Act (NAPA) Reauthorization Act and the Alzheimer’s Accountability and Investment Act, aiming to prioritize research and education.

With bipartisan support, federal funding for research has increased, benefiting those living with Alzheimer’s and caregivers. Congressman Thompson has cosponsored the NAPA Reauthorization Act, signaling progress. The advocate encourages community members to learn more and join the fight against Alzheimer’s at www.alzimpact.org.

If you'd like to learn more about Alzheimer's and the work that the association is doing to support families and research, go to www.alz.org.
