If you are over the age of 18, you need an estate plan. Whether it's a simple will or a trust as well, we can get you covered.

Do you have a will or an estate plan in place? If you answered no, you are like 68% of Americans!

According to Caring.com’s 2024 Wills and Estate Planning Survey, the number of Americans with a will has declined, with 32% of Americans having an estate plan in 2024, a 6% decline from 2023. 40% of those without a will site that they don't think they have enough assets to have a will.

The hard truth is that everyone over the age of 18 needs an estate plan, and this likely should include a will. A will does so much more than just manage the distribution of your assets. If you have minor children, a will talks about who will raise them if you and your spouse pass away, it talks about healthcare wishes if you cannot make decisions for yourself, and of course, it outlines your wishes for your personal property like golf clubs, art, or vehicles.

Take a look at this graphic from the study by Caring.com. it outlines the reasons why Americans have not engaged in estate planning. We're not surprised that procrastination is at the top of the list! Most of our clients come in saying, "This has been on our to-do list for years!"
